French female BJJ fighter Laurence Cousin who is Black belt under Flavio Behring, becam the third person in the history of the sport and the 1st European to win a gold at the Black belt division at the Mundials. Laurence a featherweight fighter, who trains in Paris (France) in the Sankuno academy (www.sankuno.com) also gained third place in the 2007 world championship Female Absolute division. In her first fight she fought Fabiana Borges from Evolucao Jiu Jitsu, then beat renowned fighter Leticia Riveiro from Gracie Humaita and finally the Japanese Sayaka Shioda from AACC who was the 2007 ADCC winner.
